He feels that physical inactivity is the greatest public health risk of our generation, and is dedicated to helping eradicate this disease in our community by educating patients on this health risk and providing structured guidance on how to achieve and maintain an active lifestyle.
Comprehensive Orthopedic Sports Medicine Specialization
Dr. Alonzo Sexton is a board-certified, fellowship trained orthopedic sports medicine surgeon. As an orthopedic surgeon, he specializes in the operative and non-operative treatment of sports injuries and musculoskeletal disorders. Dr. Sexton serves adult, adolescent and pediatric patients with personalized care using the latest treatment modalities, and has particular expertise in minimally-invasive arthroscopic treatment of shoulder, elbow and knee conditions, shoulder replacements and kneecap surgery.
Team Physician for Professional, Student and Recreational Athletes
Dr. Sexton has extensive experience treating athletes of all levels, including professional, collegiate and high school. While in New York, he served as a team physician for the New York Jets, and prior to joining The Northside Hospital Sports Medicine Network, practiced in Athens and served as a team physician for the University of Georgia football and basketball teams for over 10 years.
Dr. Sexton enjoys photography, international travel and skiing, and is a technology enthusiast.
