About Dr. Abigail Feder

Dr. Abigail Feder is a fellowship-trained and licensed neuropsychologist who specializes in the assessment and treatment of concussions in athletes and non-athletes. Dr. Feder earned her doctoral degree in clinical psychology with a focus in neuropsychology from Central Michigan University. She completed a 2-year neuropsychology fellowship at the UPMC Sports Medicine Concussion Program in Pittsburgh, PA which included working with recreational, high school, collegiate, and professional athletes. 

At the Northside Hospital Concussion Institute, she works with a multi-disciplinary team to provide comprehensive evaluations and tailored treatment recommendations. While she sees concussion patients from across the lifespan, she specializes in pediatric and adolescent populations.

Expert, Team-Based Concussion Care

Dr. Feder has experience assessing and managing concussions in adult and pediatric patients, and in working with recreational, high school, college and professional athletes. Her expertise is in performing comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations, including the assessment of cognitive skills such as memory, attention, reasoning and reaction time, in order to establish baselines for each individual, and in the case of a head injury, diagnose the extent of the injury and track treatment progress. He uses the most up-to-date tools and assessment procedures to identify specific areas of deficit secondary to concussion and customizes concussion management plans based on the unique needs of each patient.

Dr. Feder works alongside non-operative sports medicine physicians, rehabilitation specialists, vestibular physical therapists and athletic trainers to provide a comprehensive, multidisciplinary and team-based, approach to concussion treatment.

Leading the Way in Research and Community Education

In addition to providing patient care, Dr. Feder seeks to educate the community on concussion identification, as well as the importance of proper post-injury management. She has published numerous journal articles and book chapters, and has presented her research and served as an invited lecturer at national conferences.
