Dr. Rachel Kushner is a fellowship-trained orthopedic sports medicine surgeon. She is an Atlanta native and completed her medical education at Mercer University School of Medicine in Macon, Georgia. She then completed her residency training at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Shreveport, Louisiana. As chief resident, Dr. Kushner served as the resident team physician for the Shreveport Mudbugs hockey team. She then completed her sports medicine fellowship at MedStar Health Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland and Washington, DC. During fellowship, Dr. Kushner served as a team physician for Morgan State University and worked with the team physicians on the sidelines for the Baltimore Ravens. As part of her training, she was able to participate in a traveling fellowship to Europe where she was able to further her surgical training in knee preservation from world renowned leaders in osteotomies of the knee.
Dr. Kushner is passionate about returning athletes of all ages and levels back to the activities they enjoy.
